Train4Epilepsy

This program aims to address the issue of community capacity development and technical assistance management to provide quality care with the focus on nursing staff and health workers. In order to address manpower shortages, nurses, health visitors and midwives will also be trained to provide quality care to people with epilepsy. We aim to build the capacity of epilepsy care providers through fostering and facilitating regional and international collaborations to create epilepsy training opportunities for both neurologists and primary healthcare providers. We will also run train-the-trainer course for nurses, midwives, health workers around the needs of people with epilepsy. We will also support the Ministry of Health to integrate epilepsy service into existing local primary care programs, particularly in rural areas. This is expected to increase the number of epilepsy nurse specialists and health workers capable of effectively treating epilepsy, empowering them in providing quality care to people with epilepsy.
