Our Background

CareEpilepsy ETHIOPIA is a branch of the CareEpilepsy, which was registered on the 3rd February 2015 to work in Ethiopia.

CareEpilepsy Ethiopia aims to achieve a better quality of life for people affected by epilepsy in Ethiopia. Our target group/beneficiaries are both people living with Epilepsy and their families, and the community at large.

We work tirelessly so that people with epilepsy feel accepted, valued, listened to, respected, cared for through proper diagnosis and treatment and social acceptance.

The Areas We Serve

CareEpilepsy serves 6 administrative regions of Ethiopia: Tigray,  Amhara, Oromia, Southern Peoples’ State, Dire Dawa, and Addis Ababa.

Programmes

Our programs focus on holistic community care that incorporates medical and non-medical support. Our wellbeing programs aspire to build the capacity of people with epilepsy with vocational skills, training, and other similar efforts in order to make them self-confident and gain self-worth.

We apply our expertise and deliver our programmes through the local health delivery system in Ethiopia: specialized hospitals, zonal hospitals, district hospitals, health centers and health posts.

Management

CareEpilepsy Ethiopia, a branch of CareEpilepsy is managed by national advisory board drawing representation from clinicians and other stakeholders. The basic role of the national advisory board is to oversee that all project activities are conducted properly and within the specified time period according to the project plan of action. The Board will also help to solve any problems that hinder project implementation.
